Moisturizers

One of the most common experiences after circumcision is the constant exposure of the glans. This can often lead to dryness, a buildup of tougher skin (keratinization) from rubbing against underwear, and for many guys, a noticeable decrease in sensitivity. I've even heard from some who become almost numb over time. This page explores some approaches guys use to care for their glans skin, focusing on moisture and protection.

It's crucial to be gentle with this sensitive area. Before applying any product, always patch test a small amount on less sensitive skin (like your inner arm) to check for any irritation or allergic reactions.

Natural oils or butters can help to make your glans more sensitive again

Natural Oils/Butters

To make your glans more moist again with natural substances, you may try

  • Coconut Oil is known for its moisturizing properties, it's a natural option to alleviate dryness

  • Shea butter is a natural moisturizer rich in vitamins, providing deep hydration and improving skin elasticity.

  • Vitamin E Oil is sticky, but incredibly nourishing and can help reduce the keratinization of the glans.

Just make sure the products are pure, and be aware of potential allergies.

Specialized Products

There are also products specifically for the male genital area.

  • Man1 Man Oil is a penile health cream that can be applied to the shaft or the glans. It soothes and protects, providing essential nutrients and hydration.

  • Aspire Alpha Armor was developed specifically for circumcised men, and promises to "make you feel so good like it’s the next best thing to having a foreskin".

Sometimes it helps to use simple cling film in order to make your glans more sensitive again.

The Restoration Wrap Method

For guys experiencing severe desensitization, here's a technique that some report as effective: using simple cling film (plastic wrap) around your glans or putting a condom on. This serves two purposes:

  • It protects your glans from constant friction against clothing

  • It creates a moist environment that promotes dekeratinization

I heard from several men in online forums that their sensivity improved drastically using this method.

However it's important to keep in mind that cling film and condoms are not breathable, which may cause problems with hygiene or irritations if they stay on too long, and are not changed frequently.
